About Us
Co.L.D. is the Computer Science Club of School of Engineering, JNU. We help the students of SE to come together and become a part of the institute’s coding community. With a diverse Core Committee running the club, we combine individual expertise and insight to help our members grow their professional skills while also serving as a link to the professional industry by making available to our members a plethora of oppurtunites.
What we do.
Co.L.D. is a platform which provides a common ground for like-minded students, where they interact and become a part of various activities which help them to hone and test their skills, giving them a competitive edge with regards to the relevant industry.
For efficient functioning of the club, the club has laid out some of its aims from the outset.
The club also takes up various activities to fund its treasury or sometimes, to contribute to the greater good.
Aims and Objectives
The club aims to:
- Mentor and train students in various IT related fields/skills/technologies. This is done by:

Creating and offering study resources on various topics like Computing Fundamentals, Networking Fundamentals, Competitive Coding, Data Structures and Algorithms, Android Development, Ethical Hacking, Cybersecurity Frameworks, Risk Assessment etc. and various programming languages like Python, Java, C++.

Conducting on-campus bootcamps at the beginning of each semester to help students get an idea of basic IT skills and a provide a platform hone these skills

Guiding students about resources and pathways to folllow to obtain mastery in fields like Competitive Coding, InfoSec, Data Science and Open-Source Development.

Training students by connecting them with professional projects or providing them a chance to work in research projects under eminent academicians of our college and the rest of JNU.

Host various events to help students compete with each other, participate in fun activities and hone their skills as a part of all this. Organized events include:

Competitions like CTFs, Bug Hunts, Red Team-Blue Team, Hackathons, etc.

Workshops/Group Discussion Sessions by the Core Committee and Industry Professionals

Development programs like SoC (summer of code) or WoC (Winter of Code)

Provide a platform to students with expertise in specific fields to organize workshops and GDs to enhance their speaking and communication skills leading to overall personality development.

Support students who have ideas for STEM based startups with human resources.
- Provide help related to college academics to students by providing learning resources and guidance.
Role of Club in the College
Apart from being a student club, Co.L.D. has been given the responsibility of handling all the technical work related to events organized by the college as a whole. As such, Co.L.D. collaborates with other technical (especially LooP – The Development Club of the college) and cultural clubs in School of Engineering to organize inter-college or intra-college events.
Services we offer
The club offers various services. This helps our members to get professional experience while also helping us to generate funds which are used for the activities of the club.
This does not mean that we do not work for free. If the work is rewarding enough - experience wise or contributing to some great social cause, we offer our services for free also.
Services offered include:

Software Solutions: We build specialised software/applications for small to medium sized businesses/startups to help them make the transition to modern day technology or to build a specialised tech suite for them.

Website Development: Many members of the Core Committee as well as our member community are fine web developers. Leveraging this expertise of theirs, we offer web development solutions as part of our services.

The club is managed and run by Core Committee, which is the main executive body of the club. Faculty Mentors have been appointed by the college to supervise the club. Any student enrolled in School of Engineering, JNU can become a member of the club.

Coordinators
Each student club of the college is required to appoint Coordinators who act as representatives of the club to the college. Coordinators are required to hold an executive position within the club. For Co.L.D. this corresponds to being a part of the Core Committee of the club.

Join the Club
If you are interested in becoming a member of Co.L.D., go through the membership procedure as outlined below.
When to Join?
The club launches a 3 week long membership drive within the fisrt two weeks of the Monsoon Semester for the running academic year. Usually this is the 1st or 2nd week of August.
Announcements and notices regarding the start and end dates of the membership drives are published on different platforms.
Steps to Join.

During the period when the membership drive is ongoing, visit our website and fill this registration form. If you are having trouble filling the form integrated on our website, click the link below fill it separately.

Once you submit the form, we’ll verify your details and send a comfirmation Email accordingly within 2 days from the date of submission (excluding holidays).

Once your membership has been confirmed, we’ll add you to all our community channels and social media groups (for an overview of these, visit the community page).

If you were unable to join the club during the membership drive then don’t worry, you can still join the club. Simply write an 📧 email to any member of the Core Committee. Or maybe for the next membership drive.
